The Network is a charity aimed at helping young people achieve their potential and access the support they need. Advice and guidance is available to help young people with employment, training, volunteering, apprenticeships, and more!
If you or someone you know are aged between 16 and 24, live in Lincoln, and need some guidance, come and see us for some help. You’ll find us on the ground floor of City Hall, with quick access through the Orchard Street entrance. Feel free to contact us with any questions, we are here to help!
The Network was set up in Lincoln on the back of a research project looking into the barriers experienced by young people and their employers across the city.
It was found that there was a lack of joined up support in Lincoln. There is a range of training providers across Lincoln and no single service that is able to refer young people to the support they need, whether that is a recruitment service or health and well-being support.
Young people need more support now than they ever have. Nationwide shifts in the labour market towards ‘knowledge-based’ or ‘office-based’ roles and away from manual ones, as well as a slow economy, mean that making the transition between school and work is more difficult than it was 20 years ago. These issues are compounding the youth unemployment issue across Lincoln.
The Network officially launched in June, 2016. It operates alongside Voluntary Centre Services at City Hall.
